WHEN
SPRING 2015
Like so many other Chicagoans, the Fangmans moved to the city a decade ago and never looked back. They fell in love and moved to South Loop, and not just for the amazing views and proximity to Museum Campus. “There are also a ton of community-focused events.” Lauren says. They perfected their new home with major renovations. "We wanted to make the house our home and add personal touches throughout." They updated the flooring, painted every room, totally transformed the master bedroom, and even though the countertops took longer than anticipated (resulting in a lot of nights out for dinner), Lauren and Aaron now enjoy their spacious kitchen as the perfect spot for entertaining friends or spending quality time with their daughter and their pup.
Much like the Morans, the Fangmans used to live in Lincoln Park. When they decided to move, Aaron explains, they looked for homes close to the lakeshore. "Our place makes it easy to take a walk or run through museum campus while enjoying the lake as well. It's probably the prettiest view of the city." Apart from their new kitchen, their favorite space is the deck. "In the summer it's amazing," remarks Lauren. "We can hear all the concerts at Soldier Field and in the Fall we know when the Bears score before it airs on TV. Makes for some pretty exciting days and nights."
